The list of changes for this new version is huge and ranges from new fairings, new seat and new instrument panel, to handle heaters, new handlebars and new rear scales.

New Yamaha Tracer 900 GT price in Brazil

As Yamaha's official press release says, the Nova Tracer 900 GT arrives with well-sculpted lines, combining immediate performance with comfort and a highly competitive price.

Expected to arrive in stores this month, the new Tracer 900 GT 2020 has a suggested price of R$ 49,390.00 + shipping. This puts the more travel-oriented 847cc tricylinder in the MT family in a good position in the market.

This value is R$ 3,400 higher than the asking price for the MT-09 Tracer 900 currently sold on Yamaha's official website.

New Tracer 900 GT 2020, what has changed?

The list of changes for the new Tracer 900 GT 2020 is extensive and Yamaha is keen to emphasize that these changes were made to make riding even more comfortable, however, without losing the dose of sportiness that the model offers.

The pilot's seat and pillion are new. It features a more ergonomic design, good foam density and even factory tank protection. Now the height of the pilot's seat can be adjusted in two positions, making it easier for people of different sizes to use.

Helping travel comfort and protecting from wind and small debris is the new, larger and easier-to-adjust windshield.

Thinking about who will travel great distances and, at the same time, face low temperatures, the new Tracer 900 GT 2020 has gained handle heaters, in addition to new handlebars and new hand protectors.

The handlebars are narrower, allowing for a more natural riding position that improves comfort and even helps keep the rider's arms out of the airflow. The handguards were redesigned to be slimmer and lighter.

For motorcyclists who travel accompanied, more news. On the new Tracer 2020, the pillion now has new support handles, made of aluminum, and new cranksets. With them, the legs are less bent, generating greater comfort for the croup.

Yamaha Tracer 900 2020 New Suspensions

Highlighted by Yamaha in its statement are the suspensions of the new Tracer 900. They were completely overhauled and, with the new rear balance, it made possible an even greater wheelbase.

At the front, the inverted dampers are fully adjustable and have been recalibrated. They give the rider the ability to configure the bike to suit different loads and conditions of use.

For an even more personalized adjustment, very convenient when transporting the pillion or luggage, the new Yamaha touring now offers a return adjustment of the rear shock and a practical remote spring preload adjustment that eliminates the need for tools.

A new rear suspension scale made the wheelbase go from 1,440 to 1,500 mm, generating a more stable and balanced behavior during driving.

Yamaha Tracer 900 GT 2020 New Panel

The new Tracer 900 GT 2020 is now equipped with a new and exclusive digital panel with a TFT high definition color screen inspired by Yamaha super sports cars. It has complete information that can be customized according to the pilot's taste.

Among the information are gear indicators, fuel, D-mode position, revolution count, total and partial odometer, average consumption, instantaneous fuel consumption, kilometer countdown in “reserve”, engine temperature and ambient temperature.

In addition, it has functions such as Quick Shift system and Traction Control operating lights, Autopilot and the digital display that indicates which mode Traction Control is selected or disabled.

In addition, the new Tracer 900 GT also equips the Shift Indicator, a gear change warning system in which it is possible to configure the indicator light according to the desired rotation.

Enclosing the new panel package is the light sensor. It is capable of detecting lighting conditions and controlling the display's brightness according to the ambient light, preventing it from being difficult to read information in adverse conditions.

New Tracer 900 GT 2020 even brings autopilot

Another important item incorporated into the 2020 model of the Tracer 900 GT launched in Brazil is the autopilot, essential to make long journeys more pleasant, as it reduces the fatigue of the arm and right hand while riding.

This system can be used to control the cruise speed from 4th gear onwards, between 50 km/h and 180 km/h, and works via a switch on the left side of the handlebar, which can be used to increase or decrease the speed of cruise.

To automatically cancel its operation, simply apply the brakes, clutch or accelerator. The autopilot also has a button that allows the rider to reset the previous setting.

New Yamaha MT-09 Tracer 2020 Engine

Considered one of the main highlights of the new Tracer 900 is the three-cylinder engine inherited from the MT-09. Called CP3, it comes with the same Crossplane technology used on Valentino Rossi's Yamaha M1 in MotoGP.

This technology not only allows a low level of vibration, but mainly because it delivers torque and power in a linear and progressive way.

There are 115 maximum horsepower at 10,000 rpm and torque of 8.92 kgf.m at 8,500 engine revolutions.

Yamaha Tracer 900 GT 2020 Technologies

The new Tracer 900 2020 launched in Brazil brings electronic traction control. It is responsible for dosing the engine's torque delivery to the rear wheel and helps it detraction in sudden accelerations or when there is low grip on the ground.

There are two adjustment options in it: mode 1 prevents the wheel from slipping in any situation, while mode 2 performs a moderate control, intervening less in driving.

In addition, the system can be turned off to make riding even more exciting, ideal for those who use the Tracer in a more sporting way, even on a track day.

In the piloting modes (D-Mode), responsible for adapting the engine's responses according to the pilot's use, the new Tracer 900 GT has 3 options: B, STD and A. Where on the scale, option B is milder and option A is the most aggressive. STD is among them.

As in the super sports Yamaha M1 of Rossi and Viñales in MotoGP, the new Tracer 900 GT is equipped with a sliding clutch, called “Slip Clutch”, preventing the rear wheel from locking up in sudden reductions.

And to top it off, the Tracer 900 2020 sold in Brazil comes with the new Quick-Shift system. It is possible to change gears without using the clutch, thanks to a sensor next to the gear pedal that identifies the movement when the gears are going to be engaged.
